Mayflower Brewing Company

Mayflower Brewing Company makes its home in Plymouth, Massachusetts. In addition, Mayflower’s founder descends directly from that John Alden who came to this land on the Mayflower and rivaled Myles Standish for the hand of Priscilla Mullins. Share that tidbit as you share these wonderful brews.

Mayflower shines as a formidable local brewery. Still small, the four year old brewery recently added tanks and a new bottling line. This allows Mayflower to broaden its market beyond the South Shore. Feel free to place Mayflower brews on your short list of favorites; supplies should hold.

Mayflower makes balanced, well-crafted beers, using Mayflower's own yeast. Mayflower’s entire line delivers complexity and mouthwatering delight without overbearing the palate.

Pale Ale ($9.60/6-pack) enjoys center stage in Mayflower’s product line. It deftly balances rounded malt flavors with edgy, crisp hops. Refreshing on the palate, with satisfying richness, this is the brew you will want to keep on hand as house standard.

Golden Ale ($9.60/6-pack), a lighter, less intense style of ale. Not a light beer by any means, it offers full character without overwhelming.

India Pale ($10.99/6-pack) sits at the other side of the intensity scale from Golden Ale. It’s an ale of hops, plenty of hops. The refreshing hops element balances against a rich background of malt. IPAs are a favorite among beer drinkers (at least outside of pumpkin ale time). Mayflower’s is as good as they come.

Porter ($9.60/6-pack) is a big, warming brew, deeply flavored with malt. Porter and stout are basically synonymous terms, applying to full-scale, dark brews. Wasn’t there an aged aunt in David Copperfield who sipped spoonfuls of porter as medicine? We will not claim curative aspects to this porter, but we can see how such earthy richness could inspire such an assertion. Warming and delicious.

Autumn Wheat Ale ($9.60/6-pack) fulfills our expectation of a seasonal brew. Now available, it offers savory freshness and compelling warmth. Spices such as cinnamon and allspice deftly added to the fresh, fruity flavors of wheat beer produce a fragrant and delicious ale. The connection with the Pilgrim landing is just bonus, the tasty balance of spice and hops earns this ale a place on your Thanksgiving table.
