Irony Monterey Pinot Noir 2008
|Region||California, Central Coast, Monterey|
The French have an expression, terroir (pronounced tear-whah), for the unique sense of place found in each wine. Irony's winemaker, James Ewart, embraces the terroir concept because it so perfectly describes the sum of a vineyard, its climate, and surrounding conditions. The real irony lies in the fact that our line of appellation-specific, terroir-driven wines, sourced from prestigious Napa Valley and Monterey County vineyards, is so affordable.
Very dry, crisp and elegantly structured, this Pinot Noir can be had at a pretty good price. It has modest flavors of cherries, tobacco and spices, but is a little unripe, with hints of green tomato and white pepper.
