Cambria Katherine's Vineyard Chardonnay 2008
|Appellation||Santa Maria Valley|
Wine EnthusiastShows lots of flamboyant pineapple, pear and green apple flavors, with a deft touch of smoky oak. But the wine is uplifted by a firm, steely minerality, as well as fine acids. It finishes a little sweet. Drink now.
Wine AdvocateThe 2008 Chardonnay Katherine's Vineyard shows good varietal character and fine balance with well-articulated fruit and an attractive, clean finish. Though a bit oaky, this is otherwise a strong effort, particularly considering the production of 24,000 cases. The wine was fermented in oak barrels (25% new) and aged on its lees with batonnage for seven months. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014.
