When wine makes history. The highest vineyards in the Barolo terroir yield a wine that an authoritative international guide has called "Surprisingly soft, feminine and bright, with touches of violet, ginger and vanilla" - a wine that perfectly reflect the terroir's unique characteristics. Serradenari is exposed to a wide range of temperatures that give its grapes their distinct identity and color. "The world's highest Barolo" is vinified in truncated conical wooden vats and aged two years in barrels. It is a true treat for connoisseur palates!

Wine SpectatorAttractive ripe fruit, showing milk chocolate, cedar and dried mushroom character. Full-bodied and luscious, with chewy tannins and a berry, chocolate aftertaste. Not imported into the U.S. Best after 2010.

Wine EnthusiastWinemaker Roberto Cipresso has shaped this wine from the highest Nebbiolo vineyards in Barolo. He also seems to have added a ton of oak to his recipe. The wine is redolent of burnt bread, campfire and charcoal. There's fruit in there somewhere but it's hard to find at this stage. Give it a few more years to stretch its legs. M.L.
