Michel Delhommeau Muscadet de Sevre et Maine Sur Lie Cuvée Saint Vincent 2009

SKU 8051097550480

Case stacks of this Muscadet steadily diminished in our stores during last summer. The reason? It’s as good a 10 dollar white wine as you will find. Delhommeau separates his lots of grapes by the soil type they grow in. This focus on terroir gives his wines superior character and distinctive charm. Muscadet, also known as Melon, is NOT related to Muscat, and is never sweet. Great ones like this are always delightful. A categorical picnic wine.

Wine Advocateichel Delhommeau's 2009 Muscadet de Sevre et Maine Sur Lie Cuvee Saint Vincent smells - ripely and colorfully for a Muscadet - of quince, papaya, and pineapple. Surprisingly soft but still attractively juicy, it finishes with faintly bitter counterpoint of alkaline and quinine hints. Enjoy it over the next 9-12 months.
